Multi Time Australian junior champion, Bailey Malkiewicz, has joined Yamaha and the WBR team as he enters professional racing. Fresh from winning the 2017 Australian Junior Championship, Malkiewicz moved to seniors for the Australian Supercross Championship where he caught the eye of the WBR Yamaha team and a deal was made.
His transition to Yamaha and the WBR team has been smooth and he had taken a liking to the YZ250F. His first major outing on the bike saw him win the Woodville GP in New Zealand and things have only improved since then as the team has been able to tweak the bike to his personal tastes.
Bailey has an effortless style on the bike and his skill in both motocross and supercross is important as the Australian calendar now requires riders to be capable in both aspects of racing. Despite being fresh from junior racing, he isn’t without experience as he has been racing for years and has represented Australia several times as part of his decorated junior career.
Now moving into the MXD ranks, Malkiewicz will no doubt be one to watch as he is out to establish himself as in professional racing. Keep an eye on the number 47.
